Workshop Upgrade Priority Guide
Which Workshop stations should you upgrade first? Optimize your Speranza progression.
Workshop Overview
Your Workshop in Speranza is where all crafting happens. Each station can be upgraded up to level 3, unlocking new recipes and better items. But upgrades are expensive - this guide helps you prioritize.
Workshop Stations
Workbench
The foundation of your Workshop. Crafts basic weapons (Ferro, Hairpin, Kettle, Stitcher), all ammo types, Light Shield, Shield Recharger, Bandage, and Light Impact Grenade. No upgrades available - this station only has Level 1, which unlocks automatically after your first raid.
Gunsmith (Levels 1-3)
Crafts weapons and weapon attachments. Higher levels unlock more powerful weapons like Arpeggio (Level 2) and Bettina, Renegade, Hullcracker (Level 3), plus better attachments (grips, compensators, extended mags, stocks).
Gear Bench (Levels 1-3)
Crafts Shields and Augments. High priority - Level 1 gives Light/Medium Shield and Mk. 1 Augments. Level 2 unlocks Heavy Shield and Mk. 2 Augments. Level 3 unlocks specialized Mk. 3 Augments with unique bonuses.
Medical Lab (Levels 1-3)
Crafts healing items. Level 1: Bandage, Herbal Bandage, Adrenaline Shot, Shield Recharger. Level 2: Sterilized Bandage, Surge Shield Recharger. Level 3: Vita Spray, Vita Shot (best healing items).
Explosives Station (Levels 1-3)
Creates grenades and explosives. Level 1: Gas Grenade, Light Impact Grenade. Level 2: Blaze, Shrapnel, Snap Blast Grenades. Level 3: Heavy Fuze Grenade, Explosive Mine, Wolfpack.
Utility Station (Levels 1-3)
Crafts gadgets and utility items. Level 1: Barricade Kit, Binoculars, Door Blocker, Smoke Grenades, Flares. Level 2: Lure Grenade, Raider Hatch Key, Zipline. Level 3: Photoelectric Cloak, Snap Hook, Tagging Grenade.
Refiner (Levels 1-3)
Processes raw materials into refined components needed for advanced recipes. Level 1: basic refined materials. Level 2: Advanced Components, Gun Parts, Mod Components. Level 3: Magnetic Accelerator, Power Rod.
Recommended Upgrade Order
- Gear Bench Level 1 - Unlock Medium Shield and basic Augments
- Gunsmith Level 1 - Better weapons and attachments
- Refiner Level 1 - Required for advanced crafting materials
- Gear Bench Level 2 - Heavy Shield and Mk. 2 Augments
- Gunsmith Level 2 - Unlock Arpeggio and better attachments
- Medical Lab Level 2 - Better healing for harder content
- Other stations - Based on your playstyle

- Set each station to match your in-game levels
- The Stash Optimizer and Loot Guide will use these values
Upgrade Tips
- Check recipes first: See what unlocks at each level before upgrading
- Focus on what you use: No point upgrading stations for items you don't need
- Balance upgrades: High-level Gunsmith without Gear Bench means great weapons but weak shields
- Refiner is key: Many advanced recipes require refined materials from the Refiner
- Plan ahead: Some recipes require multiple station upgrades
