Getting Started with Your First Loadout
When you're just starting out in ARC Raiders, it can be overwhelming to figure out what gear to bring Topside. This guide will help you build a solid beginner loadout using items available from your Workbench at level 1.
Starting Weapons
At Workbench level 1, you have access to several reliable weapons:
- Kettle: A semi-automatic assault rifle using Light Ammo. Accurate and versatile - great for learning the game.
- Ferro: A break-action battle rifle using Heavy Ammo. High damage per shot, perfect for engaging ARC at range.
- Stitcher: A fully-automatic SMG using Light Ammo. Excellent fire rate for close encounters with other Raiders.
- Hairpin: A reliable shotgun for when things get up close and personal.
Shields - Your Primary Defense
ARC Raiders uses a Shield system instead of traditional armor. At the start, you have access to:
- Light Shield: Your basic protection. It recharges over time when not taking damage, making it essential for survival.
As you progress, you'll unlock Medium and Heavy Shields through Augment upgrades that increase your shield capacity.
Augments - Customize Your Playstyle
Augments are devices worn by Raiders to adjust backpack space, weight capacity, and Shield compatibility. Start with the Looting Mk. 1 augment to increase your carry capacity.
Essential Consumables
Bring these on every raid Topside:
- Bandage: Basic healing that's cheap to craft
- Shield Recharger: Quickly restore your shield during combat
